Headboard panel with Kyoto tradition and technique

The silk glass with gold-leafing artwork is used as an accent panel for the headboard of the bed in the guest room. The base silk fabric is "Kasumi-ginu," which is made of silk pongee yarns woven into the weft. The silk is dyed by hand with a brush, similar to the technique used for kimonos, to create an artistic expression. Superior twin/deluxe double rooms are decorated with the motif of the Genji-Ko pattern. Genji-ko" is a pattern of five different kinds of incense, which was originally used by the nobility in the Heian period (794-1185), and became a form of incense in the warrior class society. Here, Arabesque, Shippo, and Genji cloud motifs have been added to the incense design.
